新巫瑤 走一回 a walk through Sebuyau

rolls of old wooden shops of Sebuyau was destroyed in a fire at the midnight on June 24 night, at 11pm.
Around 80 people were made homeless after an inferno destroyed 17 double-storey wooden shophouses and 13 stalls in Sebuyau about an hour’s drive from Simunjan.
Sebuyau is a few hours driving from Kuching by coastal road, through Asajaya, and passing by Simunjan.
in September 2007, this writer together with friends, went to Sebuyau by express boat from Kuching. It took us about 1 and a half hour to reach our destination. these are the scenes of Sebuyau then, which was totally destroyed by fire. what a sad memory for us.

  1. I have never been there...and it must be a most delightful place to live in...Such a nice Sarawak town...thanks for sharing.

  2. luckily, the row facing the river, selling "Shell" gas is intact from the fire. Sarawakiana@2, if you want to go there, I can always be your guide
