Gabriel Adit(right), as reported by New Straits Time (NST): is a five-term assemblyman who first won the Ngemah seat on a Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) ticket in 1981, which was then under Barisan Nasional.
When PBDS was deregistered, he joined the Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) rather than Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), the offshoot of PBDS which was allocated the seat.
Just before the 2006 state elections, he was told he could not defend the seat because it was a PRS seat and not a SPDP seat.
He then resigned from SPDP to defend the seat as an independent candidate and managed to defeat PRS-BN's Alexander Vincent (above, left) and Sarawak National Party's Richard Lias in a three-cornered fight.
but today, he was seen in Nanga Tada, near Kanowit, to welcome the coming of Prime Minister Najib.
he joked and bluff with the press, who are always playing around by politician like him.
Gabriel said it again, that he never join PKR, which is a pity for many of the reporters to report back in November 15, 2008, saying "Ngemah state assemblyman Gabriel Adit Demong, 58, who won on an Independent ticket in the Sarawak state election some time back, has joined Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR)".
now, two years later, he is already 60 years old, an old man by any standard, yet old man can really bluff, especially to reporters.
my friend told me, if a politician can not bluff, then, he would not be a politician.
is that true?
Adit is now Sarawak President of PCM (Parti Cinta Malaysia), a Penang based political party, just registered a few months back, which is supporting BN, but yet to be accepted.
YB Gramong Juna spoke on behalf of the long house folks in the area, not to support parties other than BN, including PCM.
