樹林里的水瓶 water containers in the jungle

water containers in the jungle? can you believe that? it is true, though easily broken. these different species of pitcher plants are plentiful around the outskirt of Sibu. you'll be surprised to find so many species, just within a radius of less than 100 meters. seeing is believing....

2 landmarks of Julau

at first I thought Julau's landmark was changed from original post of totem with a hornbill on top, to a pepper tree. but was surprised to find out that, both the landmarks are there. so, I really have to apologize to Meng Lei about what I told him the other day. why I did not see the other landmark during my last trip? for sure I can't explain.....

waterfall of Nanga Dong

30km from Julau, an inland mini town of the Rajang River, is this stream of Nanga Dong, where you can find waterfalls here and there due to the rock formation. Julau is around 70km or an hour drive from Sibu, the biggest town along the Rajang River. along the way from Julau to this place, an old wooden fort built by the Colonial government of the Brooke era, the "White Rajah" of Sarawak, can still be seen. the fort was meant to maintain peace and order among the Iban, who at that time, was rebellous against the Brooke administration.

文化節謝幕 the FINALE of BCF

the 8th edition of Borneo Cultural Festival finally come to a close. other than all those unfortunate incidents, like the "summon" I got at around 9:54pm two night earlier for illegal parking within 6 meters from a road turning; a front wheel of Ah Chiong's car was missing; around 25 thousand people turn up for the grand FINALE, which lasted until 11:30pm, when the sky line was brightened by the fireworks.
I hope not only the same people, but more from far away, including my friends from Kuching who did not turn up this time.
令情況回轉了一點. using my just bought remote cord, I have more confident to take better fireworks photo this time.

歌女最本領 singer can do more

貴為部長的劉會洲和陳康南,西馬歌星都不放過.so....only the singer can ask ministers to dance and sing to her tunes. who else?....even Robert Lau and George Chan have to follow....
劉會洲副部長的跳舞照片,是由攝影界朋友黃子錦所提供.(多謝了,子錦,還好有你....) photographer friend Wong Tze King provide this photo for my blog. thanks.

Tiong Hua Road on fire

還好僅是附近做麵攤的"阿肥"的家失火.lane one of Tiong Hua Road was on fire this morning, around 7am. I was informed that the fire broke up near my old house, luckily it was two blocks away. I thought of buying fire insurance tomorrow, not sure they accept old house or not. may be much much expensive.

Colourful Cultural Night

如何? the 8th Borneo Cultural Festival will come to a close after tonight. the main stage performance of various cultural groups is really so fantastic. words are unable to descript the beauty of these performances, so, just let photos spoke for themselves. what do you think?
