眼看就接上了 going to be connected

this is one of the nine bridges crossing over many rivers at different points, along the proposed Sibu Tanjung Manis road. the one nearest to Sibu, is this Lo Ba'an bridge, which is almost completed, but not yet... the whole project is undertaken by TRC---Trans Resources Cooperation Sdn. Bhd., and the proposed completion date for this road is last Friday, 23rd of October, 2009. Lo Ba'an bridge is one of the first to be completed. this project was commenced on 24th of April, 2006. 詩巫通丹章馬尼大道,於2006年4月24日開工,原本要在星期五,前天(2009年10月23日)完工.可惜,工程被拖延了.承包商是TRC---Trans Resources Cooperation Sdn. Bhd.羅馬安大橋是9座要建造的橋樑中,最快完工的一座.眼看就要完成和接通了,不過,還差別麼一截....

  2. How's the road condition from sibu to that bridge? is it fully tarred? How to go there? from sibu town, drive to ucs, then cross igan bridge, then look out for signboard to tanjung manis on your right? is there a signboard? how long is the distance from igan road junction to the bridge? I like to explore new places but I need some information about the area first before exploring blindly. I will be back this Christmas!

  3. But the bridge really blocked the path way for big vessel to come to Sibu. Sigh...

  4. well, jingpengboy, cross the Igan bridge, turn left on the first roundabout, going straight until you reach Tong Yek shipyard, a little bit further, no road sign, turn right to Ling Chu Ming road, go straight, until you see a blockage, you can still move forward. from that stretch onward, it is aroud 8km before you reach the Lo Ba'an bridge, all tar-sealed by the time you come back. I suppose the bridge will be readied by then. there are 8 more bridges along the Tg Manis highway. I think all are not ready yet. should be completed by June, next year, hopefully.
superman, whether the big vessels come to Sibu or not, it should be our problem. who knows, businessman can have every excuses to increase the prices of, practically, anything.

  5. thanks for the information, having a glimpse of the bridge (even if not completed) will give me a high. I like bridges and boats. tuong aik shipyard has a website. =) http://www.tuongaik.com.my/

The tj manis-sibu highway has pros and cons. larger vessels might not birth in RPA but sibu will enjoy influx of people(customers) from tj. manis area.

if sibu can have good road conditions to tj manis harbour and sibu airport, there shall be not much of a problems. most of the transportation of goods will be taken by sibu businessmen you alike. like it or not, the road had been built and we have to adapt to it and make benefits from it. Now sarikei might have reduced amount of ppl traveling there from tj manis to buy stuffs. We need ferry service to cross the mighty rejang to connect sarikei to tj manis to share the pie.
