回教堂的老樹倒了 fallen tree of the Mosque

this old "big" tree at the compound of Sibu mosque, finally fell. obviously, nothing high up can remain there forever. like the tree, sooner or later, they are going to fall.

really don't know, anybody still remember Christmas as the birthday of Jesus, where he was born to spread the message of selfless love. this is suppose to be a very important occasion for the church, yet businessmen and the supermarkets takes over the leading role of promoting Christmas.

木箱為家的林孝新 how sing has only a box as home

how sing is just OK with his mind, although open do not answer your questions properly. he lives in a wooden box around 5x3 feet, you can see him around Sibu central market and wharf, at night rest on the veranda of shops. how do you think our society can help him?

Sibu Foochow Association 106th anniversary

SK Lau's grave in Sibu

SK Lau was a well known Journalist cum photographer in Sarawak. many knew him by his name SK, including former and present chief ministers of Sarawak.
because of an unpublished book "fairy, tiger and dog", he left Sibu in an early morning by express boat to Kuching, from there, his journey include Singapore, Portland of Oregon state of the U S. later, he went to Taipei, and finally to Beijing.
before he passed away in 2004, due to his ability to master both Chinese and English language, he worked as a translator, with high pay.
SK finally buried in Sibu, his home town.
從無到掌握一些技巧,都榮幸獲得他的指導. taking a photo with an old friend, who was this blogger photographic skill's teacher. good bye, friend.

Everwin shopping centre

Everwin supermarket, it was said, coming from Sarikei, the owner is only 30 over years old. in Sarikei, the company have many outlets, including supermarket, low cost market and coffee shop. its business has spread to Sibu already. it only takes time, before consumers see them in Kuching, Miri, Bintulu and other places. snap some photos of the company first, will interview the person in charge soon...

Nyelong bridge of Sarikei

the bridge leading to Bintangor from Sarikei, across the Nyelong river, has just completed last week. looking at the size of the bridge, you will wonder, just like the small river, it takes such a long time, just to built at small bridge. even the ferry crossing was only introduced in the 21st century. one realized that, the interior of central region in Sarawak, is so much lack behind, in the sense of development. it is only hope that, with the beginning of a new chapter of the government, we will see something different from now.
剛完成通車的義郎橋. the just completed nyelong bridge.

全國最大的學院草場 largest open space of a college

obviously, the good intention of building a college in Bintangor, is not an easy task. population in the surrounding area is not large enough, and lack of basic amenities like good roads. and so, TAR college is going to be built there or not, is yet to be seen. whether MCA is prepared to set up a college in Bintangor or not, is another question.
