dogs are man best friends, especially to the Iban, the indigenous people of Sarawak, as can be seen in the photo taken yesterday on the road from Bintulu to Sibu. Iban is the majority people of Sarawak, who lives mostly in the interior and remote country side. dogs became their natural friends, together they went hunting and looking for food in the jungle. many Iban people has moved to the urban and towns, many remain near the jungle, as can be seen through the many long houses in the country side of Sarawak. their conditions are not much different than before, most lived in poverty.

這張相片讓我們看到了－－狗永遠是人類最好的朋友．這種情況對砂拉越的伊班人尤其明顯．過去的日子中，伊班人多數居住在山林和遠離城市和繁華．在那里，他們過著與大自然為伍的日子，犬隻成為了他們必然的朋友，共同狩獵和尋找食物．

想不到海島也會遇到鄉親，順溪美祿的林國隆，上世紀八十年代移居美里，後來跑到仙本娜做廚師．結果十一年前來到馬布島Uncle Chang resort．由于異地遇鄉親，我們的這頓晚餐最特別，是他另外安排的．a Foochow at Mabul Island, and so we were given special treat, what a honor.

卑微起家的劉義華，為人謙虛，令人欣佩．早年在夜市小販做生意．後來自己開店，主要做成衣和布疋．
詩巫最早和最主要的市中心街道－－中街，現在已儼然是”大星”街，因為，劉義華的「大星公司」，是這條街主要的商店，幾乎佔去了一半的店面．
現在，「大星廣場」在萬千祈盼下，終於開張，也算是老詩巫所樂見的事．

Lau Ngee Hua, a local entrepreneur, started his small business as a hawker vendor at the night market in Sibu, many years back. he gradually began his own business selling clothes and other items. Sibu Central Street, which is the main street here, has actually turned into STAR, or "Daesin" shopping center, with many of the shops along the road came under the same company.

他們走了5個多鐘頭，就為了要將榴槤帶到砂拉越來出售．走5個多鐘頭的森林路，翻山越嶺，不是一件容易的事．所以，一粒榴槤Rm10，不要緊啦，隨便買幾粒吃吧！！
they came from Belubu, Indonesia. walking for more than 5 hours, through the jungle and hills. they came here, just to sell durians. and so, even though they sell for Rm10 one durian, it is still worth it.

a voluntary group, the Sibu Angel Force, gathering young and old to Tapak Kaul, the beach of Belawai, by the bank of South China Sea, to do some cleaning work. since the road leading from Sibu to Tanjung Manis was opened recently for traffic, a steady volume of traffic has since been travelling along this coastal highway to Tanjung Manis, Kuala Rajang, and eventually to Belawai, the farthest you can go by road to this part of Sarawak.
the beach of Belawai is a bit dirty, due to littering by visitors. so, suggestion for their group to do some thing about it was raised and accepted, with the action taken today.
詩巫民間組織：「落入凡間的天使」－－今天前往拉讓江河口附近的布拉威海灘做義工，收拾有一些垃圾的沙灘，讓大家能夠快快樂樂的在這里享受假日時光．
隨著詩巫通向丹章馬尼的道路通車後，有增無減的車輛，定時前往這個海港和附近的布拉威漁村．在布拉威還有一處美麗的海灘，是內陸居民最好的野餐地點．當人們湧往這里遊玩時，當地的縣議會也在忙著計劃如何改善一些設施，如公共厠所，洗涼房，垃圾桶，車輛通道等等．
美麗的海灘大家都要珍惜，這就是「落入凡間的天使」義工們所努力推動的理念．

this year (2011), before GAWAI, we pay a visit to Julau, a small town along the Kanowit river, which itself is a tributary of the Rajang river. along the shops corridor, piles of rubber sheet were laid on the ground for transport to main town for sell.　如樓，距離詩巫約60公里，是拉讓江上的一座小鎮．一大堆樹膠片置放在商店前，等待運往外地出售．

這間於1991年創設的傳統織布廠,員工20多人,但是一個月才只能夠織出差不多7疋的布，手工繁雜，製成不易，每疋價錢由Rm750起，到整萬令吉都有，視布疋的製作花樣和困難而定．通常是外來到當地參觀後才訂購．它並不出產現貨出售．

丹章馬尼有飛機場？這是匪夷所思的事，沒有多少人的海口區，竟然有飛機場．天天有飛機嗎？當然有，只從古晉來回丹章馬尼，早上7點25分，古晉起飛，8點抵達．8點15分由丹章馬尼起飛，8點50分抵達古晉．一趟是35分鐘．價錢呢，一趟是Rm59，加稅Rm24，合共Rm83.來去都是一樣價錢．
can you believe that Tanjung Manis has airport? many will be surprise, not much people living in that part of the seaside, yet MASwings is flying daily, 7:25am from Kuching to Tanjung Manis, arriving at 8am. flying back to Kuching at 8:15am, arriving at 8:50am. the price? each way the same, Rm59, plus tax Rm24, total Rm83.

this row of shops, are the last of the remaining wooden shops in Mukah. the rest, all burnt down with no obvious reasons. the New Lane cafe, is very near to the "Chimney" of Mukah and Chinese temple, just by the riverside. here, there is one famous food of Mukah, that is, the Melanau "umai", a dish of raw fish meat cut into small pieces, and soak in onion and lemon juice, or the sour orange and chilly, which is sold here. Umai is very delicious, visitors to Mukah should try this dish, and always ask for one, if they were not provided with one . they even sell "umai" at the wet market, Rm13 per packet . 新慶園這一排木板店，是沐膠碩果僅存的最後一排未被燒光光的木店了．它就在一座古老碩莪煙囪附近，靠近沐膠河旁．這間餐廳咖啡店，只在夜間營業，生意非常旺．老板娘表示，1991年開業的這20年間，她們很受歡迎，連當年的”第五台”，現在改為”I-fm"的訪員，都曾訪問過她們．這里最著名的食品，就是沐膠的”魚生”，切成小片的生魚，以辣椒，酸柑和大蒜腌上好幾個鐘頭後，便可以上桌享受．在他們的魚市場，也有售賣這種食食品，魚片和其他配料分開，要吃時才滲腌．到沐膠，肯定要享受這道美食，否則就是好浪費哦．．．．

Selanggau to Balingian road, which was in bad condition for the past thirty over years, is now completely different. with the completion of the tar-sealed road, now motorists can enjoy a peace of mind, and it takes only two hours for a steady drive from Sibu to Mukah, which is over 200km apart.

當有人對我提起，實蘭溝通向萬年煙的那一段”慘不忍睹”，不是人走的路，終於重建完成時，老實說，本人一時之間是難以接受的．因為，剛在一個多月前的今年三月間，一車三人行，還在這段路上又走又罵的．誰料到，州選舉來臨時，忘了去看看．果然，一條全新的路終於呈現在大家眼前．超過30年了，這段路一直是破破爛爛的，讓駕車人沒一句好話．現在，路終於較承包商所承諾的，慢了5個月才完成．即使這樣，人們還是很高興，暫時，這里的”惡夢”終於成為過去．
